"Innate Savagery", that was what started class off. Holden decided to hand out pieces of paper with "innate savagery" written on them, as sort of an impromptu discussion card. Needless to say Holden thought that this theme was a major part of Lord of The Flies and in particular one that could answer many questions in our concluding discussion. A few laughs were had with them, but for the most part, the discussion was one of originality and substance with few uses of the…

Ok, sorry this is up a wee bit late...technical difficulties. Anyway, we kicked off Friday's Lord of the Flies discussion with a little trip to the movies to watch Piggy's death. We may have set our expectations too high for a lego movie when it came to blood and brains, but the legos never fail to deliver. It was positively riveting. The black and white 60's version, which should be noted for its extremely high quality cinemetography, didn't do much blood-and-guts-wise, but it it…

The class began with Holden handing out cheat-sheets to everyone in the class that had "Innate savagery" written on them. I applaud your innate cleverness Holden! Anyway, we then listened to Golding talk about his book; he even answered some of our questions, such as "Why didn't he pick girls to land on the island?" Alright. This is late. Shame. Typed in Word, yet Haylee didn’t upload to Tweaverville. Realized while eating breakfast this morning. You care so much. But here we go...
Thursday's discussion:
Heston asks why Piggy justifies Simon's death by saying they were scared, etc...
Jessie: Piggy knows it was Simon, but feels the need to settle both of their consciences by excluding themselves from the situation. By not quite standing in the circle, this shows that they are not…

This is the most comprehensive collection of storytelling, via words, photography and video I've seen all together in an AppBook. The iPad app is being offered for free until 9/11 in hopes that as many people as possible will download it this week.
Here's an article on it:

The name of the iPad app is: The 9/11 Memorial: Past, Present, and Future
There are no birthdays today
